1-
Action
Research on E-learning in Palestinian School (2015-2016)
This
project was implemented in cooperation of Aal-Quds
Open University with Open University of Cyprus and funded by Belgian
development agency (BTC). The objective of this project is to test the
assumption that by introducing innovative learning practices including learning
objects, mobile learning, and piloting new ICT tools into the Palestinian
education System.
In
order to assess the assumption, the most significant change in student
performance as well as in student behavior and the (enabling) environment, this
research project focused on:
Understanding
the contribution and effectiveness of the innovative learning practices and
introduction of new tools to achieve the goal of learner centered education and
21st century skills describing challenges, opportunities and minimum
requirement for the successful scale up of such innovative learning practices
and introduction of new ICT tools into the Palestinian education environment.
2-
LEADERSHIP
AND TEACHER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (LTD) (2014-2015):) It is a comprehensive education
reform initiative focused on supporting the Ministry of Education's (MoEHE) national effort in teacher
development. The goal was to provide
technical support to over 2500 in-service under qualified school teachers in 4
subjects to implement ICT in Education, and
to improve the quality of school education through an effective approach
to leadership and teacher development. Underpinning this macro goal were four
intermediate objectives which encompass all of the various program components
directed toward achieving this goal: • Capacity of school principals,
supervisors and teachers to improve classroom instruction is enhanced •
National cadre of high-quality teacher and leadership educators is created •
Policies, structures and systems within key Ministry of Education departments
supporting leadership and teacher development are created and harmonized •
Pre-service teacher education in Gaza is enhanced.
Running Projects:
The Palestinian Teacher Professional Development:
This project is implemented in cooperation of
Al-Quds Open University along with three
other Palestinian universities and the Ministry of Palestinian Education'
(MoEHE) funded by the World Bank. The program focuses on introduces
teachers to new learning theories of mathematics, and stresses the use of
technology in the mathematics curricula as well as the intersection between
technology and new learning theories related to the mathematic classroom. It
also focus the use of misconceptions, and problem solving, and applications to
enhance learning throughout the mathematics curriculum
